Kids Fungi Adventures - The incredible Kingdom of Fungi

There are hidden worlds of wonder all around us just waiting to be discovered. One such world is that of microbes.

The kingdom of fungi is a very old one indeed. The first fungi are believed to be at least 1 billion years old. Fungi are curious things, not a plant, not an animal, a species all on their own!. The world of mushrooms and microbes and mould is a wondrous place full of colour and weird shapes. Often tiny and hidden out of sight, these silent aliens that sprout from trees, rocks, moss, and dead logs can be slimy, fluffy, stinky, and sometimes smell fishy. Some mushrooms look like coral from the deep sea, and others are bright white in the day but at night glow eerily green. Mushrooms and fungi are everywhere, so why not go out and take a look?. Be careful not to touch, pick or eat anything you discover. Just explore the world and see what you can find, please remember that these living beings have feelings so be gentle and be kind.
